Several Chiang Mai pubs have released details in the past week or so of the parties they will be staging to mark Halloween 2018 on the 31st October. The Hard Rock Cafe, The Mellowship and The Venue in Hang Dong are all holding special parties themed on ghouls and hell and these will include live music. All three venues have more details about the events on their Facebook pages.
The Hard Rock Cafe Chiang Mai is just around the corner from the landmark Night Bazaar. The Halloween Costume Party here comes with two best get-up prizes which give a 50 per cent reduction on the co-winners’ total bills for the night. Two bands, The Panic Man and The Wolf, will be on stage to deliver their own inimical genres of music. Guests will be able to pick up candies as they enter and to buy two small Singha beers for the price of one all night long. The Hard Rock introduced an Atomic Halloween Hamburger and Evil Eye Cocktails yesterday and these will be available through to the witching hour on the 31st.

The Venue is one of the anchor establishments at the Kad Farang lifestyle and entertainment complex near Hang Dong. The Venue is laying on live music and this kicks off at 20:00. Early birds arriving at 19:00 will be able to get stuck into a free Indian style buffet. The Venue generally provides four or five different curries, rice, naan bread and popadoms for the buffet but as usual the advice is to arrive early to ensure you get the full range of options.
The Mellowship is at the Huay Kaew Road-Inner Ring Road crossroads and next door to the Ibis Styles Hotel. The Mellowship’s Halloween Zombie Disco will feature disco band Baan Tuek Super Boogie. Tickets for this event cost THB200 and include one free beer. The Mellowship’s Facebook page advises customers to prebook their tables by sending an IM or calling one of the telephone numbers listed.
