Korean airline Jeju Air recently announced the launch of winter flights between Seoul and Chiang Mai. The daily service will start on the 19 of December and comes just in time to cater for an expected spike in the number of travellers looking to catch some winter sun over the Christmas and New Year festive season.

The low cost carrier has released timetables and started taking reservations for the service from Seoul’s Incheon Airport. Outbound flights will take off from Incheon at 18:00 local time and land in Chiang Mai at 22:30. Return services from Chiang Mai will depart at 23:30 with scheduled landing times back in Seoul of 06:00 the following morning. The service will operate until the end of March 2019 and is expected to resume again the following December.
The northern Thai city of Chiang Mai is flavour of the moment with Koreans. Jeju Air noted in its press release that the only direct low cost carrier route from Korea to Chiang Mai was being inaugurated to satisfy increasing passenger demand. Jeju Air’s new route will complement an existing one by Korean Air and provides travellers with increased choices.
