The Indian consulate in Chiang Mai has announced details of this Sunday’s International Yoga Day. The third edition of the annual happening is scheduled to take place on the plaza at Thapae Gate. It will start at 08:00 and run through until 11:00.
The main attraction of Yoga Day is the opportunity of seeing master yogis demonstrate key postures and then trying them out for yourself. The Indian Community organisers say experience is no limitation and yogis will be showing off beginner level stances and routines as well as the more complex ones.
The first 300 people to register at Thapae Gate will be given logoed Yoga Day T-shirts. Other enticements to add Yoga Day to your timetable for Sunday include a breakfast featuring a fusion of Indian and Thai specialities and mini-music concerts. This year’s Yoga Day is being dedicated to the memory of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
